Definitely more rural is an apt way to describe the Zena area. Located on the south side of Grand Lake, this area holds the popular Drowning Creek, Woodard Hollow and Big Hollow, among others. Spectacular homes are found along the shoreline, and if you don’t mind a bit of a drive to get there, you can find enjoyable serenity. As a Chicagoan, who is building a second home in Zena, say, “When you are driving here from Chicago, who cares if we add on an extra ½ hour.” – An almost identical comment comes from Colorado owners of a vacation home.
